Prescription Drug Take Back Day

April 28, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Emporia Police Department is taking back unwanted prescription drugs at Flint Hills Community Health Center Saturday, April 28th from 10am-2pm.

This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue.  Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.  Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are alarmingly high, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoes due to theses drugs.  Bring your pills for disposal to the Flint Hills Community Health Center at 420 W 15th Ave, Emporia, only pills or patches will be accepted.

The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.

For more information, please visit Emporia Police Department’s facebook page or visit the DEA Diversion website.
