The annual Clothing Drive sponsored by Student and Family Resources has begun collecting donations! You can bring new or gently used clothing items to the Flinthills Mall, back entrance by the cinema or front entrance between Claire's and Bling up until November 1st. Due to the pandemic, there is an overwhelming need for clothing of all sizes this year, especially winter clothing items and winter coats. The Emporia Granada Theatre will be showing The Rocky Horror Picture Show on the big screen, Friday, Oct 30th. Doors open at 9:00pm. $15 G.A. $10 for Students. Remember to come dressed as Brad, Janet, Frankie, or your favorite character. Costumes encouraged, but not required.

Saturday, October 31st from 11:00am to 1:00p , go downtown for Emporia's Downtown Trick or Treat ! This event will look a lot different this year than in years past. Proper masks, not just Halloween masks, are required while participating. There will be directional arrows on the sidewalks, encouraging movement in a uniform manner. Businesses will be disbursing candy outside of their storefronts by sliding each piece through a cylinder tube into the kids' candy bags.

Coffey County Health Dept. will be holding a Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic at the Lebo Fire Dept. on Mon. Nov 2nd from 5:30p – 6:30p. You can download and fill out the consent form ahead of the clinics to save time. The link is at the Coffey County Health Department Facebook page. Don’t forget to bring you insurance to the clinics.

Stop by the Lyon County History Center's Preston Gallery Friday, Nov 6th from 5:00pm -9:00pm to see the Walnut Elementary School, Kindergarten Students Premiere Showing of Celebrate Diversity: Through The Eyes of A Child. The collection will be on display thru Dec. 6th.

The Emporia Workforce Center is hosting a “Drive-Thru Job Fair” Tuesday, Nov 10th from Noon to 2pm at the Southeast KANSASWORKS office building in Emporia. There will be a FREE Drive-Thru veterans Breakfast at the Presbyterian Manor in Emporia starting at 7:00 am. Veterans Day Parade will begin at 9:30am on Commercial Street, from 4th Ave - 12th Ave. Veterans Day Memorial Service will be at the All Veterans Memorial starting at 11:00am.

The Indoor Holiday Farmers Market is Thursday, Nov 12th at the North Lyon County Youth Association Building from 4:30p - 6:30pm.   (The old school building, across the street from the Ball Park in Allen).
